Updates about Library Services

Using Library Collections Off-Campus

Logging In

In order to make sure that you have full access to all of the libraries online resources, including the full text of articles, it is very important that you start at the library homepage. Clicking on a specific database, journal, or service from the library page will prompt you to sign in with your Bradley ID and ensure you can get access to everything we provide. Getting to the journals or databases through a regular Google search will not prompt this sign-in and will add unnecessary steps to accessing full-text articles.

To configure Google Scholar to recognize articles that Bradley provides access to, please see the Google Scholar section below.

E-Books

You can find e-books by searching the library catalog which can be accessed here. Begin by searching for the topic you are looking for. After the search has been completed click on the link 'Available Online' under the 'Tweak your results' section to the left. See screen capture below for an example.

Streaming Video

You can also use the library catalog to search for streaming videos. Some of these on a variety of topics can be access through some of our databases. These include:

Alexander Street Press Video: contains streaming video in collections such as American History in Video, Black Studies in Video, Counseling and Therapy in Video: Volumes I & II, Engineering Case Studies Online, Nursing Assessment in Video, Nursing Education in Video, Opera in Video, and Sports Medicine and Exercise Science in Video.

Library Databases and Journals

Library databases provide you with access to millions of articles from magazines, newspapers, journals, and other sources. Using the links on the library homepage is the best way to make sure you are able to access everything we provide. To find these links, click the "Article Databases" link on the left-hand side of the library homepage and the navigate using the option that works best for you:

Google Scholar

If you are using Google Scholar from off-campus, it is important that you configure it to recognize that you are from Bradley University. This will make sure that if Bradley has access to an article that you find through Google Scholar, you will be able to easily get to it. Instructions for how to configure Google Scholar to do this can be found on the Google Scholar page of the library website or through the Word document below.
