Websites

Use websites to find valuable evidence from authoritative resources like academic institutions, the government, other research bodies, or non-profits.

Websites have a wealth of information, but not websites are reputable or have legitimate information. If you are using the information found on the web, you must evaluate the information before using it.

Use the SIFT method to evaluate web sources and determine if you should use the information for your assignment/project.

Tip: Don't be fooled by .org, while .orgs are fairly reliable, some are not.

Tip: Use .gov and .edu websites when you can

The Campbell Collaboration is an international social science research network that produces high quality, open and policy-relevant evidence syntheses, plain language summaries and policy briefs.
Lit Covid
A database focused specifically on finding and accessing research on COVID-19 from the National Library of Medicine (NLM).
County Health Rankings
County Health Rankings is a free database of county health statistics and provides a way to quantify the health and health needs of communities and compare them to other counties that are geographically close or demographically similar. County Health Rankings also has a section on interventions and policies that have shown promise.
Health Evidence
Search healthevidence.org for access to quality-rated systematic reviews evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of public health interventions, including cost data
The Community Guide
The Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide) is a collection of evidence-based findings of the Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF). It is a resource to help you select interventions to improve health and prevent disease in your state, community, community organization, business, healthcare organization, or school.
