Librarians in Canvas

A guide to collaborating with librarians within Canvas.

Adding a Librarian in Canvas

First, make sure that you have discussed expectations with your librarian and have published your Canvas course.

Click on People in the course navigation links.

People is an option under the Course menu.

 

Click on the red +People button.

The Add People button is to the right, stylized +People

Search for the appropriate librarian by email or by login ID (the part of the email before the @).

Choose "Librarian" from the Role menu.

Click Next.

Search with the person's BUnetID with no @ and choose Librarian from the Role menu.

After Canvas successfully finds the librarian, click Add Users.

When the right person is successfully listed, click Add Users.

The Librarian will be listed as "Pending" until they accept your course invitation.

The pending label will appear next to the person's name in the People listing.
