A guide for locating resources relevant to assignments in apparel production and merchandising classes.

Finding Books and eBooks

Why use books?

Books are excellent sources for:

  • Overview of a topic

  • Background information

  • History and chronology

  • In-depth coverage of a topic

The entire book does not need to be read to be used for research. Use the table of contents and index to find the pages most relevant to your research.

Find books and ebooks by searching the library catalog. You can also request books from other libraries to be sent to the Cullom-Davis Library for you to borrow. (More information about borrowing books from other libraries)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has over 600 free ebooks available to read online or download. This collection includes books about art and fashion.
