  • Use “quotation marks” to find exact phrases
    • "rock art"
    • “African diaspora”
    • “invertible matrix”
  • Use proximity searching* to find words near each other
    • women NEAR violence
    • progressive NEAR/10 tax
    • "global warming" NEAR/20 "sea level"

Get the Most Out of Google Scholar

Google Scholar is a popular way to search, but it cannot perform deep searches or consistently provide full-text access. If you use Google Scholar, use the customized link so that the "Get it @ Bradley" links will appear in the results.  "Get it @ Bradley" links you to access the library for full-text access or to request the item through interlibrary loan.
