Searching for Research Articles in Databases

Searching for health/medical research about LGBTQIA+ people can be complicated; the language that the community uses to describe themselves may change over time, and the language used by the community may also differ from what is used by healthcare providers. You may want to try a mix of keywords and subject headings when doing a search. Because clinical research is generally done on specific populations (i.e., men who sleep with men), umbrella acronyms like "LGBT" or "LGBTQIA" or "GLBT" might not always find good results.
