Getting Books and Articles

Requesting Physical Items

I-Share (the system in which one can request items from other libraries) has resumed in limited capacity. The library has a new catalog. Follow the instructions on how to place requests for items through I-Share can or you can contact the Research Help Desk at x3502 for help. Please, remember the following three things when making any requests. Firstly, not all libraries have resumed this function. Therefore, items at these libraries will not be available for request. Secondly, items must be quarantined which mean it may take 7-10 days for your requests to be filled. Lastly, until further notice items cannot be delivered to faculty and staff offices. You can pick up the items at the Check Out desk using your Bradley ID during regular business hours.

Getting Full-Text (PDF) of Articles

If you encounter an article that doesn't have full-text (PDF) available, there are steps you can take to find access or request the full-text from the library. These steps are dependent on where you were when you were searching articles. If you are in a library database when you click on the Get it @ Bradley button, there are three potential possibilities. Firstly, 'View Online, Full text availability' there will be a link to a journal package, then the library has access to the PDF, the link should take you to the article. Secondly if you see a link that begins with 'Request through Interlibrary Loan...', first check to see if there is a free copy in Google Scholar, if there is none then click on the link to use ILLiad to request the PDF. Lastly, if you see a link that begins with 'BU can buy the article...' first check to see if there is a free copy in Google Scholar, if there is none then click on the link to have the library buy you a copy through Get It Now. If you are doing your search in Google Scholar, you will see a link 'Get it @ Bradley' instead of a button, and the link may be hidden under the >> sign in the last line of the entry.

'BU can buy the article' uses Get It Now which requires you to use your BU email.

'Request through Interlibrary Loan' uses ILLiad. Follow the instructions for using ILLIad to walk you through the steps.
